Open House - February 17, 2016
The Early Childhood Education Center is a quality care and learning environment for young children, pre-service teachers, and teacher educators. Central to our approach is an idea borrowed from the Reggio Emilia approach - all children are competent, capable, and ready to learn, having rich and powerful ideas. Thus, our curriculum supports the pursuit of children's rich ideas and questions and children's rights to participate in a learning environment where they will be respected as individuals and members of our community.
Join us for an Open House for prospective families on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 5:00-6:30 p.m.

Feelin' Groovy Book Fair - March 7th-11th!
Dear ECEC Families:
Reading for pleasure unlocks
the power of information and imagination and helps children discover who they
are. Here’s what you can do to help children develop stronger reading skills
and a love for reading:
· Set the
example. Let children see you read.
· Have a
collection of books in your home. Update this collection routinely to keep pace
with changing tastes and reading skills.
· Support our school’s Book Fair. Allow your
children to choose their own books to read.
Our Scholastic Book Fair is a
reading event that brings the books kids want to read right into our school.
It’s a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading
level. Please make plans to visit our Book Fair and be involved in shaping your
child’s reading habits.
Book Fair dates: March 7-11,
2016
Shopping hours: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30
p.m.
Special Events: Join us for a
fun-filled spirit week – My Favorite Book Character Monday, Tie-Dye Tuesday,
Wacky Hair Wednesday, Tell a Tale Thursday, Flowers or Fringe Friday.
If you are unable to attend the
Fair in person, we invite you to visit our online Book Fair at scholastic.com/fair.
Our online Fair is available from February 28th to March 12th.
We look forward to seeing you
and your family at our Book Fair! Remember, all purchases benefit our school.
